PABNA, Mar 12, (V7N) – Two daily wage laborers were seriously injured when unidentified miscreants opened fire at a tea stall in Chatmohar upazila of Pabna on Thursday evening.

The incident occurred around 7:45 pm at Lalon Mor area of Khatabari in Mulgram union, where Naeem Hossain (40), son of Rezaul Karim of Khatabari Dakshinpara, and Sajedul Islam (42), son of the late Ramzan Ali, were watching television after iftar.

Eyewitnesses said three masked assailants suddenly fired several rounds before fleeing. Sajedul was shot in the hand while Naeem sustained a bullet wound in the lower abdomen and collapsed.

Locals rescued the injured and took them to Chatmohar Upazila Health Complex, where duty doctor Dr. Khandaker Nafis Sadiq provided primary treatment. As their condition deteriorated, both were transferred to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital in critical state.

Police sources said the motive behind the attack is not yet clear, though it is suspected to be linked to a previous dispute.

Chatmohar Police Station Officer‑in‑Charge Golam Sarwar Hossain confirmed the incident, stating: “The two injured have been sent to Rajshahi. Police have also been deployed to the spot. Legal proceedings are underway.”
