RAJSHAHI, May 4, (V7N) — The Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) will welcome its new batch of undergraduate students for the 2025–26 academic year through a grand orientation program scheduled for May 9. Following the orientation, first-year classes will officially begin on May 10, as decided in the university’s 157th Academic Council meeting.
RUET has a total of 1,230 seats across 14 departments under three engineering faculties. Among them, 180 seats each are allocated for CSE, EEE, CE, and ME departments, while 60 seats each are available in MTE, CME, IPE, MSE, URP, ECE, and ETE departments. The ARCH, CHE, and ECM departments each have 30 seats.
The admission process began on February 3, 2026, following online applications accepted between December 2–13, 2025. The admission test was held on January 22, with 15,567 candidates appearing out of 18,277 applicants. Results published on January 24 showed 7,702 students passed in Group A and 274 in Group B.
After initial selection, students completed a rigorous process including final exams, online subject choice submissions, document verification, and medical board health checks. RUET also introduced an auto-migration system, allowing students to transfer to higher-preference departments if seats became available.
