Rangamati, August 23 — The suspension bridge, a key attraction in Rangamati's tourism industry, has sunk due to recent heavy rains and rising water levels in Kaptai Lake. The Rangamati Tourism Corporation has announced a ban on all movement across the bridge starting Friday.

The bridge, which has its foot submerged under one foot of water, poses a safety risk to tourists. Alok Vikas Chakma, Manager of Rangamati Tourism Corporation, stated that the bridge will remain closed until the water levels recede and it is deemed safe for use again.

This annual issue arises during the monsoon season, as the bridge frequently gets submerged. Locals and visitors alike have urged the authorities to consider renovating or elevating the bridge to prevent such disruptions and enhance the tourism experience in the area.
