Pabna, Sep 15 (V7N) - The 137th birth anniversary of Sri Sri Thakur Anukul Chandra was celebrated with great fervor in Pabna, featuring a range of events such as prayer sessions, Ganga baths, and free medical camps.
 
The festivities, organized by Satsang Bangladesh, began on Sunday morning at the Himaitypur World Science Center in Pabna with the formal announcement of Thakur Anukul Chandra's birth.
 
The prayer session included speeches from Dr. Subrata Ray, a central committee member of Satsang, Sri Dhritabrata Aditya, Secretary of Satsang Bangladesh, and Nikhil Majumdar, Assistant Secretary. Devotees from Bangladesh, India, and other countries joined in the celebration.
 
Nikhil Majumdar reported that the event also featured the 251st Sharadiya Ritwik Assembly held at the Thakurbari in Pathratla, Pabna. Activities included the distribution of Mahaprasad, a screening of Thakur’s historical footage, cultural performances, and discussions on Thakur’s teachings. The celebrations concluded with an evening prayer session, recitations from various religious texts, and musical performances.
 
Sri Sri Thakur Anukul Chandra, born in Pabna in 1888, was revered for his messages of equality and secularism, uniting people across all religions and castes. Each year, members of Satsang commemorate Thakur’s birth and death anniversaries with grand celebrations in his birthplace of Himaitypur, Pabna.
