Dhaka, Apr 15 (V7N) – Canadian academic Professor Daniel W. Lund has officially joined Independent University (IUB) as the new Pro-Vice-Chancellor, taking office on Sunday, April 13.

Before his appointment at IUB, Professor Lund served as the founding Dean of Graduate Programs and Executive Education at the British Management University in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Dr. Lund brings a wealth of experience, having held senior academic roles at universities across Asia, the Middle East, and the South Pacific. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Entrepreneurship and Leadership in Education at Johns Hopkins University. Additionally, he holds a PhD in Higher Education Governance and Diversity Management from Griffith University, Australia, an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University, Canada, and a BA in Philosophy and English Literature from Victoria University. He has also received advanced training in teaching and leadership from prestigious institutions such as Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, Harvard Business School, and MIT's Sloan School of Management.

Dr. Lund’s research interests span leadership in higher education, managing cultural diversity, adapting expatriate teachers, and human resource strategies. He has been a keynote speaker at numerous international conferences, authored chapters in scholarly publications, and regularly contributes articles to peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Lund is an International Fellow at MIT's Sloan School of Management and a member of the Academy of Management.
