Dhaka, Sept 13 (V7N) – Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir staged a protest rally in the capital on Friday evening, denouncing irregularities and delays in the announcement of results in the Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JUCSU) election.

The demonstration, organized by Shibir’s Dhaka Metropolitan East unit, began at 7:30 p.m. from the north gate of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque and proceeded toward the National Press Club. Leaders and activists carried banners and chanted slogans demanding immediate publication of the full election results and transparency in the process.

Speakers at the rally criticized what they described as widespread mismanagement in the conduct of the JUCSU polls, accusing the authorities of attempting to undermine student democracy. They warned that continued delays and irregularities would not be tolerated and called on the Election Commission to ensure fairness in student union elections.

The procession concluded near the Press Club amid tight security. Police monitored the rally closely to prevent any untoward incidents.
