Kushtia, Sept 14 (V7N) – The AgriVenture: Student Agro-Leadership Bootcamp 2025 was held at Islamic University, Kushtia on Saturday, aiming to inspire youth in agricultural innovation, sustainable development, and enrichment.
The program, organized by the International Association of Students in Agricultural and Related Sciences (IAAS), took place at the Birshreshtha Hamidur Rahman Auditorium around 10 a.m. It was chaired by Dr. Mohammad Abu Hena Mostafa Jamal, Professor of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering. Special guests included Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. M. Yakub Ali and Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam. The keynote was delivered by Professor Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman of the Pharmacy Department.
Speakers highlighted groundbreaking innovations in agriculture, advanced research, and opportunities for global collaboration. They stressed the need to unlock new prospects in the agricultural sector through research, technology, and student engagement.
Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. M. Yakub Ali, addressing the event, said: “We are now living in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. But the question remains—how much of this revolution are we truly able to utilize? It may happen that by the time we can fully benefit from it, the world may have already moved ahead to another revolution.”
He further added that the young generation is the driving force to move the country forward. Despite decades since independence, Bangladesh has yet to achieve its desired level of development, and greater focus is needed in areas like agriculture and innovation.
Founded in 1957 in Tunisia with only eight member countries, IAAS now has more than 11,000 active members across 56 countries. Its IU chapter, launched in 2021, has been conducting research, surveys, training, and field-level data collection to enhance student participation in agricultural development.
