Chattogram, Sep 14 (V7N) – The distribution of nomination papers for the Chittagong University Central Students' Union (CUCSU) elections has officially begun after nearly three decades. The process started on Sunday (September 14) at 9:30 am at the CUCSU building’s second floor.
According to the election schedule, nomination papers will be distributed daily from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm until Tuesday (September 16). Candidates must submit their papers by Wednesday (September 17). The fee for nomination papers has been set at Tk 200 for hall parliament posts and Tk 300 for central parliament posts.
The preliminary list of candidates will be announced on September 21, while the final list will be published on September 25 after resolving objections.
Meanwhile, the final voter list was released today, showing a total of 27,634 voters eligible to cast their ballots.
The CUCSU constitution has also been amended to create five new posts, although the total number of posts in the central parliament remains 28.
Excitement is building on the campus as students prepare for the CUCSU polls, which are scheduled to be held on October 12 — marking the first such election in nearly thirty years.
