Dhaka, Nov 05 (V7N) — The Jagannath University Central Student Union and Hall Parliament (JnUCSU) elections have been scheduled for December 22, according to an official announcement made on Wednesday (November 5) at the teachers’ lounge of the university’s Shahid Sajid Academy Bhaban.

The announcement was made by Chief Election Commissioner Professor Dr. Mustafa Hasan, who said that the date was set considering Intellectuals’ Day, Martyred Intellectuals’ Day, and the winter vacation. “We hope to conduct a fair and peaceful election, taking all factors into account,” he said.

According to the election schedule, the final code of conduct for the JnUCSU polls was published on November 5, while the draft voter list will be released on November 6. Objections to the list will be accepted and reviewed on November 9–11, with the final voter list to be published on November 12.

Nomination papers can be collected from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on November 13, 16, and 17, and submitted between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on November 17 and 18. After scrutiny, the draft list of candidates will be released on November 23.

Appeals regarding the acceptance or rejection of nomination papers will be handled from November 24 to 26, followed by dope tests for candidates on November 27 and 30. The final candidate list will be announced on December 3, while withdrawals will be allowed from December 4 to 8. The final list of withdrawn candidates will be published on December 9.

The campaign period will run from December 9 to December 19, and polling will be held on December 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Vote counting will begin at 4 p.m., with results expected on December 22–23 (Monday and Tuesday).
