He died complications arising from cardiac problems, kidney issues, and respiratory ailments at the National Cardiac Institute at 4:15 AM.

Hailing from Akhaura upazila in Mogra Union, he was known for his unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people and his significant contributions during the liberation war.

The news of his demise has plunged the residents of Akhaura into mourning.

Present at his funeral were notable dignitaries, including Akhaura Mayor Takjil Khalifa Kajol, former president of Bangladesh Awami League in Akhaura upazila, Prof. Mohammed Ali Chowdhury, representing the Upojela Awami League.

Mogra Union Chairman M A Matin, AC-Land, UNO Moniwando Chairman Dipak Chowdhury, and Akhaura upazila Chairman Md. Abul Kashem was also among those who paid their respects to the departed soul.
