Sylhet, Sept 3 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Mineral Resources Development Bureau (BMD), under the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, is set to auction approximately 61,900 cubic feet of seized broken white stone, locally known as "lute hawa pathor," confiscated from the Dhopaguli market area in Sylhet Sadar Upazila. These stones, once a prized natural resource from Sylhet’s famous White Stone tourist destination, are being auctioned following recent government action.

The auction announcement was made official through a government notification signed by Md. Ahsan Uddin Murad, Director (Deputy Secretary) of BMD, issued on Tuesday, September 2. The notification invites interested individuals and companies to submit tenders to participate in the auction process.

According to the notice, interested bidders must provide a refundable security deposit of BDT 200,000 in the form of a pay order or bank draft in favor of BMD. Registration and name entry for participation must be completed between 10:30 AM and 11:00 AM on September 4. The auction will commence at 11:00 AM on the same day in the hall room of the Sylhet Sadar Upazila Executive Officer’s office.

Prospective participants are required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of BDT 500 in cash at the time of registration. Presenting a photocopy of their National Identity Card or Birth Registration Certificate is mandatory for verification purposes.
