Several topics about the equitable and effective administration of the well as well as the well-being of Bangladeshi pilgrims performing the Hajj were extensively deliberated upon during the conference.

Although the quota was not met in 2023, a total of 127,198 Bangladeshis would be able to do the hajj this year, same as previous year.
On Monday morning in Jeddah, a bilateral agreement in this regard was signed by Dhaka and Riyadh.

The delegations from Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh consisted of Dr. Abdul Hamid Jamaddar, Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, President of HAAB, M. Shahadat Hossain Taslim, and other officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Dr. Abdul Fattah bin Sulaiman Mashat, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, and other Saudi officials were also present.

Bangladesh's hajj quota remains unchanged at 1.27 lakh

The conference included a detailed discussion of several concerns about the welfare of Bangladeshi pilgrims performing the Hajj and the fair and orderly administration of the event.

Despite nine deadline extensions, Bangladesh was unable to meet its quota of Hajj pilgrims last year. Reservations for Bangladesh have to be returned to the host nation in 2023 if they were not fulfilled. It hasn't, however, resulted in Bangladesh's quota being lowered.

The Saudi deputy minister was also asked by HAAB President M Shahadat Hossain Taslim to carry out Hajj operations in the same way as in previous years, without cutting down on the number of Hajj agencies involved.

According to him, it would be beneficial to keep the number of Hajj agencies at its current level to provide services to Bangladeshi pilgrims, particularly the elderly.

Afterward, the Saudi deputy minister promised to consider HAAB's proposal.

The head of HAAB asked for improvements in tent management at Mina and Arafah, improved luggage transit and management for Hajj pilgrims, and the delivery of tents to the agency ten days before Hajj.

Abdul Hamid Jamadar, the Religious Affairs Secretary, spoke about many topics including the management of the Hajj and increasing the opportunities available to pilgrims performing the Hajj.
