DHAKA, BANGLADESH, March 19 (V7N) — The country’s main Eid-ul-Fitr congregation will be held at the National Eidgah at 8:30 am, marking one of the largest religious gatherings in the রাজধানী on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr.

Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, Mufti Muhammad Abdul Malek, will lead the main congregation at the National Eidgah. Dr. Maulana Md. Abu Saleh Patwari, Mufassir of the Islamic Foundation, will remain prepared as the alternate imam.

In addition, five Eid congregations will be held consecutively at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque to accommodate large numbers of worshippers. The prayers are scheduled for 7:00 am, 8:00 am, 9:00 am, 10:00 am, and 10:45 am.

The first congregation will be led by Maulana Mizanur Rahman, followed by Mufti Muhibbullahil Baqi Nadvi for the second. The third will be led by Maulana Md. Zakir Hossain, the fourth by Maulana Zobayer Ahmed Al Azhari, and the fifth and final congregation by Mufti Maulana Mohammad Abdullah.

Maulana Shahidul Islam will remain on standby as an alternate imam during the congregations.

Apart from these প্রধান venues, Eid prayers will also be held at the South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, mosques within University of Dhaka, and numerous other mosques and Eidgahs across the capital.

Authorities have taken necessary preparations to ensure orderly arrangements and facilitate the participation of thousands of devotees expected to attend the congregations.
