DHAKA, July 13, (v7n) – Fifteen government hospitals, including Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), today received advanced haematology analysers aimed at strengthening diagnostic services and ensuring faster, more accurate blood testing for patients across the country.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Husain handed over the machines at a ceremony held at the Central Medical Stores Depot (CMSD) in Tejgaon. Leading medical equipment supplier EGMed International Limited donated 15 state-of-the-art MISPA HX58 Automatic 5-Part Haematology Analysers with Autoloaders free of cost to the hospitals.
Speaking at the programme, the health minister said the government has accelerated the public procurement process to strengthen the healthcare sector. “A new dimension has already been added to the health sector. We are moving quickly with the tender process so that investments in healthcare can be expedited,” he said.
Referring to the current national budget, he noted that nearly Tk 69,000 crore has been allocated for the health sector, and stressed that funds must be used properly to improve services and procure essential equipment. “Money allocated to the health sector cannot simply be spent without accountability. We have to ensure its proper utilisation and invest in necessary medical equipment,” he said.
The minister said the government does not want to waste even a single day in implementing health sector initiatives. “Every moment is important. We are accountable to the people, so we must remain prepared,” he added.
Chairman of EGMed International Limited Golam Dastagir Touhid said accurate diagnosis is the prerequisite for quality treatment. “We are proud to work as a partner of the government in modernising Bangladesh's healthcare system,” he said.
Officials said the new analysers would enable faster and more precise blood tests, improve diagnosis and clinical decision-making, reduce waiting times, and expand access to modern diagnostic services across the country. Training, maintenance, and technical support would be provided to ensure effective long-term operation.
