RAJSHAHI, Aug 17 (V7N) — A fish fry release programme and a colourful rally were held in Rajshahi on Sunday as part of National Fisheries Fortnight 2026, organised by the district administration and the Department of Fisheries.
The programme was held under the theme “A Self-Reliant Nation Through Silver Fish, Bangladesh First”.
Fish fry were released into the Collectorate Pond at around 11:30am. A colourful rally was then brought out from the District Commissioner’s Office and concluded at the Rajshahi District Shilpakala Academy.
Land Minister and Rajshahi MP Md Mizanur Rahman Minu attended the programme as the chief guest.
Rajshahi City Corporation Administrator Md Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Dr A.N.M. Bazlur Rashid, Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam and Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mohammad Foyezul Kabir were also present.
Officials from the district administration, Department of Fisheries and other stakeholders attended the fish fry release and rally.
