Dhaka, Sept 28 (V7N) – State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr M A Muhit has left here for Japan on Saturday (Sept 26) on a seven-day official visit, leading a six-member high-level delegation to participate in an experience-sharing programme on Japan's modern healthcare services and infrastructure.
According to a press release issued today, the delegation will study Japan's healthcare system, with one of the main objectives being to make Bangladesh's health sector more effective and stronger by applying Japan's successful healthcare experience.

The visit is expected to focus on Japan's advanced healthcare infrastructure, hospital management systems, medical technology, and elderly care services. Japan is known for its universal health coverage system, advanced medical technology, and efficient hospital management. The experience-sharing programme is part of Bangladesh's efforts to modernise its healthcare sector, improve service delivery, and strengthen healthcare infrastructure across the country.
Bangladesh has been working to expand healthcare services, including the establishment of 151-bed hospitals in every upazila, the development of a National e-Health Platform, and the creation of health hubs at the union level. The government has also been collaborating with international partners, including Japan, to improve healthcare quality and access. Japan has been a longstanding development partner of Bangladesh, supporting various sectors including health, education, and infrastructure.
