Dhaka, Oct 27 (V7N) — BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir emphasized that any decision regarding the removal of the President must adhere to constitutional rules. He made this statement while addressing reporters after paying homage to the late President Ziaur Rahman at his grave in Shere-Bangla Nagar on the 46th founding anniversary of Jubo Dol.

Fakhrul stated, “BNP will thoroughly discuss the matter of the President’s resignation within the Standing Committee before taking any definitive decision.” He also stressed the need for swift elections following necessary reforms.

Jubo Dal marked its founding anniversary with a one-day program. As part of the event, floral tributes were offered at the shrine of President Ziaur Rahman at 11 a.m. with Mirza Fakhrul attending as the chief guest.

Following the tribute ceremony, a free medical camp and voluntary blood donation program were scheduled at BNP’s central office in Nayapaltan from 12 noon. The program was inaugurated by BNP Standing Committee Member Professor Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, with senior leader Mirza Abbas attending as the chief guest.

The anniversary programs reflect BNP’s continued efforts to engage with its supporters while focusing on upcoming elections and organizational reforms.
