Dhaka, Oct 27 (V7N)- BNP Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed highlighted Sunday that efforts to trigger a constitutional or political crisis in Bangladesh are underway, urging vigilance against such moves. He remarked, “There are ongoing schemes and conspiracies aiming to create a constitutional crisis. We must scrutinize these forces and identify those responsible for the turmoil in our political and state affairs.”

Ahmed made these comments during a discussion with the families of martyrs at the Bangladesh China Friendship Conference Centre in Dhaka. He emphasized that the BNP does not wish for any constitutional instability and called for a thoughtful assessment of possible hidden agendas that may exploit the situation. According to him, a constitutional crisis could empower authoritarian forces, which he warned could take advantage of any such disorder.

Additionally, Ahmed pointed out that it is the people’s demand for Awami League’s ban from politics due to allegations of violence and oppression, including the killing of students. He noted that Bangladesh Chhatra League has already been banned under the Anti-Terrorism Act-2009, a decision he claimed has been widely accepted.

The event also featured speeches from family members of martyrs from the 2006 "Logi Boitha" incident. A documentary on alleged repression by the Awami League was screened, along with a photo exhibition detailing their claimed brutality.
