Dhaka, Nov 05 (V7N)- BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has voiced serious concerns about a "conspiracy" to undermine democracy in Bangladesh, cautioning that the country may face further political challenges. He shared these remarks during a discussion meeting organized by the Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal at the National Press Club on Tuesday, marking National Revolution and Solidarity Day.

Mirza Fakhrul emphasized the need to “remove the garbage of Sheikh Hasina’s government” and called for elections to be held promptly. “An elected government is the best form of government because it represents the people’s choice,” he said, suggesting that a reformed state is only possible under a government chosen through fair elections.

The BNP leader also made a historical claim, alleging that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina "fled on August 5" and that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had left for Pakistan before the Liberation War began. These statements underline the ongoing tension between the BNP and Awami League leadership.

Urging BNP leaders and supporters to proceed cautiously, Fakhrul accused the current government of embezzling $10 billion over the past 15 years. He concluded by asserting that BNP’s mission is to rebuild the nation through elections with the people's support.
