Dhaka, Jan 11 (V7N) — BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury announced that even if the party wins 200 parliamentary seats, it will not form the government alone. Instead, a national government will be formed to implement the 31 points proposed by the BNP and 41 allied parties.

Speaking after a liaison committee meeting in Gulshan on Saturday afternoon, Amir Khasru highlighted the importance of collaboration and unity in reshaping the country’s governance after the fall of the current government.

"The BNP has introduced these 31 points out of concern for the state of the country after the dictatorship ends," he said. "We have been working for years to rebuild the state structure. Bangladesh will remain a non-communal nation, even if others are not."

Amir Khasru reiterated the BNP’s commitment to merit-based politics, a principle laid down by party founder Ziaur Rahman. He added that BNP aims to prioritise young leadership and ensure their active participation in shaping the future of Bangladesh.

The BNP and its allied parties have committed to implementing reforms through a national government, signalling a shift towards inclusive and cooperative governance in the country.
