Dhaka, Jan 28 (V7N)— Brazil has expressed its interest in seeing a fair and transparent election in Bangladesh, said BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury. He made this statement following a meeting with the Brazilian Ambassador to Bangladesh at the BNP Chairperson's office in Gulshan on Tuesday afternoon.

During the hour-long meeting, discussions revolved around the potential for enhancing bilateral cooperation between Bangladesh and Brazil. Amir Khasru highlighted Brazil’s possible support in sectors such as agriculture, garments, and pharmaceuticals. Additionally, talks were held on ways to improve Bangladesh’s football infrastructure with Brazil's expertise.

“The ambassador expressed Brazil's hope for a democratic and credible election in Bangladesh,” said Amir Khasru. He added that the meeting focused on fostering mutual development and cooperation between the two nations.

The meeting was attended by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Organizing Secretary Shama Obaid, and members of the party's Special Associate Advisory Committee on Foreign Policy.

The discussions underscore Brazil’s interest in Bangladesh’s democratic processes and its willingness to collaborate in various development areas.
