Dhaka, Oct 04 (V7N) – Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has said that his party is not in favor of dividing the nation on the basis of religion.
He made the remarks while addressing the ‘Da’i and Wa’ez Conference’ held at the Al-Falah Auditorium on Saturday (October 4) morning.
Dr. Rahman said that Bangladesh stands as a unique example of communal harmony, adding that social peace can only be achieved if God-fearing individuals take up leadership roles in society.
He further stated that the damage caused by one misguided educated person could outweigh the harm done by thousands of uneducated individuals combined. “Even after so many years of independence, we have failed to build a humane society,” he said, calling on Ulema to guide the nation through the teachings of the Quran and Hadith.
Dr. Rahman emphasized that true education should inspire service to humanity and that scholars must use their knowledge for the betterment of the country.
