Dhaka, Oct 05 (V7N) – The Ambassador of Switzerland to Bangladesh, Mr. Reto Renggli, paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman on Sunday (October 5). The meeting and breakfast session were held at the Ameer Jamaat office in Bashundhara, Dhaka, at around 9 a.m.

The meeting took place in a cordial and friendly atmosphere. At the outset, the Ambassador inquired about Dr. Shafiqur Rahman’s health and wished him a speedy recovery.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the overall socio-political situation in Bangladesh and bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Switzerland — particularly in the areas of trade and diplomacy. They also expressed optimism about further strengthening development and cooperation between the two nations.

The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr. Alberto Giovannetti, Counselor and Head of Political, Economic, and Communication Affairs at the Swiss Embassy, and Mr. Khaled Chowdhury, Senior Political, Economic, and Press Officer.

Representing Jamaat-e-Islami, Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Central Propaganda and Media Department Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair, Central Executive Council Member Mubarak Hossain, and Foreign Affairs Advisor to the Ameer Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan were also present.
