Dhaka, Nov 19 (V7N) — Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has proposed that field administration officials be reshuffled through a lottery system to ensure impartiality and transparency during the 13th National Parliament elections.

The party’s Secretary General, Mia Golam Parwar, made the statement during a dialogue with the Election Commission (EC) at the Election Building in Agargaon on Wednesday morning.

Parwar said, “Previously, positions were often reshuffled overnight after the election schedule was announced. Conducting reshuffles through a lottery will reduce bias and promote fairness.”

He also raised concerns about voter education, particularly regarding the July National Charter and referendum. “We want to know how expatriates will vote in the referendum and how the Election Commission will ensure that less-educated voters understand the July Charter,” he said.

The Jamaat delegation included Assistant Secretary General AHM Hamidur Rahman Azad and Advocate Mohammad Shishir Monir. Azad emphasized that a level playing field must be guaranteed for all parties and called for 100% lottery-based transfers of DCs, SPs, Election Officers, UNOs, and OCs to maintain impartiality.
