Dhaka, Jan 7 (V7N)- Jamaat-e-Islami Naib-e-Ameer Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher has expressed concern that the country may be heading toward another rigged election, alleging that law enforcement agencies are leaning toward a particular political party and the administration is showing undue loyalty.

He warned that such manipulated elections could once again push the country toward instability and destruction.

Dr. Taher made these remarks at a briefing on Wednesday morning following a meeting with European Union representatives at the Jamaat-e-Ameer's political office in the capital.

Calling on the government and the Election Commission to take immediate corrective measures, the Jamaat leader said that the party has informed the EU of its expectation for a free, fair, and credible election. However, he alleged that the administration is currently prioritizing the interests of one political party over others.

Dr. Taher further stated that if Jamaat-e-Islami comes to power, it would form a government in coordination with all political parties, emphasizing inclusiveness and consensus-based governance.

Meanwhile, he dismissed reports claiming that the National Citizens Party (NCP) has been allocated 10 seats as “imaginary.” He added that the Jamaat-led 11-party alliance is expected to reach a final agreement on seat sharing in the near future.
