Dhaka, Jan 20 (V7N) — Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has expressed optimism that the upcoming national elections will be 100 percent free, fair and impartial, emphasizing the importance of democracy and civil rights.

He made the remarks while delivering the inaugural speech at a Policy Summit organized by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami at Hotel Intercontinental in Dhaka on Tuesday morning.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman alleged that fascism had been established over the past 17 years by systematically dismantling institutions meant to safeguard the interests of the people.

He stated that Jamaat-e-Islami is willing to cooperate with any political party in the future, provided it takes a firm stance against corruption, ensures the independence of the judiciary, and supports necessary reforms.

Calling for national unity, the Jamaat Ameer urged people from all walks of life to come together and cooperate for building a developed Bangladesh.

The event was attended by foreign diplomats, leaders of various political parties, business representatives, and senior media professionals, reflecting broad participation in the policy dialogue.
