Dhaka, Feb 11 (V7N) — Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has commented on the recent arrest of Thakurgaon district Jamaat Amir Belal Uddin, who was found with at least Tk 50 lakh in cash.
In a status posted on his verified Facebook page on Wednesday, Dr. Rahman claimed that a group is attempting to mislead voters, fearing Jamaat’s popularity and public support. He called on citizens not to give importance to what he described as “propaganda.”
He added that while the nation is preparing for a fair, impartial, and credible election, some people are spreading misinformation. He urged the public to remain cautious and not be influenced by such tactics.
The Jamaat Amir also emphasized that voting is a right and sacred responsibility. He encouraged people to vote for the candidate and symbol of their choice, noting that the entire country is watching.
