Dhaka, Feb 14 (V7N) — Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has announced the launch of a central hotline to report incidents of attack, vandalism, arson, or harassment across the country during the post-election period.
He made the announcement in a post on his verified social media page at around 1 pm on Saturday (February 14).
In the message, Dr. Rahman urged people to immediately report any violence, particularly incidents targeting Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, members of the 11-party alliance, independent candidates, or citizens holding dissenting views.
According to the post, the hotline has been introduced to quickly record and verify complaints. The designated number is 09639-111444.
The Jamaat Ameer requested that complainants provide necessary details when reporting incidents, including their name, identity or role, mobile number, relevant parliamentary constituency, nature of the complaint, and a detailed description of the event.
He also called on all sides to remain calm during the post-election period and stressed the importance of preserving evidence of any incident without taking the law into their own hands.
Dr. Rahman said every complaint would be taken seriously and, if necessary, forwarded to law enforcement agencies. He added that verified incidents could also be তুলে ধরা (highlighted) in national and international media.
