The newly elected AL members of parliament (MPs) at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here, the AL Parliamentary Party (ALPP), reelected Sheikh Hasina as the Leader on Wednesday, January 10.

Sheikh Hasina, the Prime Minister and President of the Awami League (AL), has been unanimously re-elected as the Leader of the House for the 12th Parliament.

At the inaugural meeting of the AL Parliamentary Party (ALPP) at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here, the newly elected AL members of parliament (MPs) on Wednesday January 10, reelected Sheikh Hasina as the Leader of the House for a fourth consecutive term after taking an oath of office.

Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury, MP, endorsed the nomination of Sheikh Hasina as Leader of the House made by AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader, MP.

A massive clap later, the plan was approved by all.

Matia Chowdhury, MP, was once again nominated by the ALPP meeting to be the Deputy Leader of the House.

Re-election of Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, MP, and Advocate Shamsul Haque Tuku, MP as Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the House, respectively, as well as Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury, MP, as chief whip of the parliament, were also decided upon at the meeting.

Additionally, Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury was re-elected to the ALPP secretary position.
