In the face of intense security in the nation's mountainous regions, bank robberies, assaults on police stations, weapons theft, and kidnapping have alarmed Ghulam Muhammad Quader, the chairman of the Jatiya Party and leader of the opposition. On the first day of his seven-day tour to Rangpur, Sunday afternoon, he made these remarks while speaking with media at Circuit House.

According to GM Quader, there had previously been a variety of terrorist attacks in the hilly regions. As thus, they continued unabated even with law enforcement personnel present. Armed organisations in the hills are always engaging in terrorist acts because of the government's poor leadership and lack of accountability. GM Kader also saidaccidents in Bangladesh are becoming commonplace and are no longer considered accidents.

He claimed that the lives of regular people are in danger as a result of the defence forces' apathy and the law enforcement agencies' quiet involvement, and that this includes frequent attacks on bank robbery police stations. He said that the security of the residents in certain places has been neglected by the administration.

At the event were Mobashwar Hasan, the district commissioner, as well as local Jatiya Party officials and activists from the city and district.
