BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir accused the government of misleading the public regarding a rail corridor granted to India and recent Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed in New Delhi. Fakhrul claimed that the government is making Bangladesh overly dependent on India through various agreements that do not benefit the country.

He argued that the rail corridor and other partnerships serve India's interests without providing reciprocal benefits to Bangladesh. Fakhrul also highlighted ongoing issues such as the lack of fair water sharing from common rivers and unresolved border killings. He accused the government of establishing one-party rule and undermining democracy and the rule of law in Bangladesh.
