Nov 13, V7N-England pacer Reece Topley has been fined 15% of his match fee after expressing frustration by smashing a chair following an injury in the first Twenty20 International against the West Indies. Topley, who injured his knee while bowling on Saturday, was forced to leave the field and missed the second match of the series.

As he walked towards the pavilion at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Topley became visibly frustrated and threw a chair onto the staircase handrail. The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Wednesday that this action breached the code of conduct for "abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings."

In addition to the fine, Topley received one demerit point. Under the ICC's code of conduct, accumulating four or more demerit points within 24 months can result in suspension. England currently lead the five-match series 2-0, with the third T20 set for Thursday in Gros Islet.
