Sylhet, Dec 27 (V7N)- Dhaka Capitals assistant coach Mahbub Ali Jacky (Innalillahi Wainna Ilaihi Rajiun) has died after suffering a heart attack during a practice session of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at the Sylhet International Stadium.
The tragic incident occurred on Saturday (December 27) while the Dhaka Capitals players were warming up ahead of their scheduled match. Mahbub Ali Jacky was present on the field with the team when he suddenly collapsed.
According to sources at the stadium, he was immediately given CPR and first aid on the field. When his condition failed to improve, he was rushed to a nearby hospital. However, he died on the way to the hospital, doctors later confirmed.
The sudden death of the experienced coach has cast a shadow of grief over the Sylhet International Stadium, with players, officials and spectators expressing deep shock and sorrow.
Mahbub Ali Jacky was a Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB)-listed coach and had long been associated with domestic cricket. He was a familiar face in various editions of the BPL and played an important role as a member of the coaching staff of Bangladesh’s Under-19 team, which won the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in 2020.
The Bangladesh cricket community has expressed condolences over his untimely death.
