Colombo, May 23 (V7N) – Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has signed a direct contract with Jaffna Kings for the upcoming Lanka Premier League 2026 season.
The franchise confirmed the signing through an official Facebook post on Friday (May 22), expressing excitement over adding the experienced T20 star to their squad.
In its announcement, Jaffna Kings described Shakib as a “global T20 maestro,” highlighting his all-round capabilities. The franchise said he brings stability with the bat, provides crucial breakthroughs with the ball, and remains composed under pressure in critical match situations.
The statement added that Shakib’s inclusion further strengthens an already strong lineup ahead of the new season.
Shakib had previously featured in the LPL in 2023, where he played for the Galle Titans.
