Dhaka, Sep 05 (V7N) — The Bangladesh cricket team returned home late Wednesday night following their historic Test series victory in Pakistan. However, one notable absence was Shakib Al Hasan, widely regarded as one of the world's premier all-rounders.

The team arrived in Dhaka in two separate groups: one via Dubai and the other via Doha. Despite the triumphant return, Shakib Al Hasan was not among the players disembarking in Bangladesh.

Sources indicate that Shakib did not join his teammates in Dhaka due to his immediate travel plans. He has reportedly flown to England to participate in a county match for Surrey. Shakib accompanied the group returning via Dubai but took a separate flight to London from there.

The timing of Shakib's departure has raised questions about his availability for Bangladesh's upcoming tour of India. The team is set to commence training for the India tour on September 9, with the departure scheduled for September 15. The tour includes two Tests and three T20Is.

According to sources close to Shakib, despite the apparent short stint with Surrey, Shakib is expected to play four matches for the English county team. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has approved this arrangement, provided Shakib is available for national team duties.

Shakib's participation in the Test series against India has been confirmed, and he is anticipated to join the team in time for the series. His brief engagement with Surrey is seen as part of a broader agreement that accommodates his commitments to both the county team and the national side.
