Philadelphia, Oct 29, (V7N) – Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner has filed a lawsuit against Elon Musk and his political action committee, America PAC, to halt a controversial giveaway offering $1 million daily to swing state voters who sign a petition.

The legal complaint alleges that the PAC is misleading citizens by encouraging them to provide personal information in exchange for a chance to win, calling it an unlawful lottery. Krasner argues that this initiative violates Pennsylvania law, which requires government regulation of all lotteries. Additionally, the lawsuit claims the PAC has not adequately disclosed rules or protections for participants' personal data.

Voters who sign the petition are asked to pledge support for the First and Second Amendments. However, Krasner contends that winners have not been randomly selected, as Musk claims, but rather are individuals who have attended Trump rallies in Pennsylvania.

The lawsuit also highlights that Musk and the PAC promised $100 payments to participants, which, according to the district attorney's office, have not been fulfilled. The U.S. Justice Department has already issued a warning to the PAC, indicating that the giveaway may violate federal election laws that prohibit payment for voter registration.

Krasner is seeking a court order to stop Musk and the PAC from engaging in any unfair or deceptive practices related to their lottery.
