Quetta, Nov 09 (V7N)- A powerful bomb explosion at the Quetta railway station in Pakistan’s southwestern province of Balochistan has killed at least 24 people and injured 46 others, according to officials. The incident, reported by Dawn News, occurred on Saturday morning as passengers prepared to board a Peshawar-bound train.

Quetta Superintendent of Police Operations Muhammad Baloch stated that the blast struck just as the Zafar Express was preparing to depart for Peshawar. The explosion took place inside the station, moments before the train arrived at the platform.

Authorities fear that the death toll may rise further, as several injured individuals are in critical condition. In response to the tragic event, Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti ordered an immediate investigation and reaffirmed his commitment to eradicating terrorism from the province.

Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani condemned the attack, describing those responsible as “enemies of humanity” for targeting innocent civilians. The incident has once again highlighted security concerns in Balochistan, where acts of violence have continued to impact daily life and transit hubs.
