Kyiv, Mar 24 (V7N) – As Russia continues its relentless assault on Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky has called on Western nations to intensify pressure on Moscow to halt the war.

In a statement on Sunday (March 23), Zelensky condemned the latest wave of Russian drone attacks, which he said targeted Kyiv overnight. According to the Ukrainian president, at least 150 drones were deployed by Russia, with several being intercepted. However, some managed to reach their targets, resulting in the deaths of at least seven people.

Zelensky expressed his frustration in a social media post, writing: "It's time for Russia to put pressure on us again. They must stop attacking Ukraine like this. Only then can this war be ended."

Amid the escalating violence, peace talks between European nations and the United States began on Sunday in Saudi Arabia. The discussions reportedly focused on a temporary ceasefire, according to a report by Deutsche Welle.

Following the meeting, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustam Umerov expressed cautious optimism, stating, "We had good discussions with the United States. We are optimistic. Energy was also discussed at the meeting."

The international community has been closely watching these negotiations, hoping they could lead to a breakthrough in the conflict, which has now entered its third year. However, with Russia showing no signs of backing down and Ukraine calling for stronger Western action, the path to peace remains uncertain.
