Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued a stark warning, asserting that Russia is fully prepared for nuclear conflict amidst escalating tensions with the West over the Ukraine crisis. However, he emphasized that the scenario of nuclear war is not imminent and sees no need to resort to nuclear weapons in Ukraine.

According to a report by the British news agency Reuters, Putin made these remarks during an interview with Russia-1 television and news agency RI. When questioned about Russia's readiness for nuclear war, the 71-year-old leader stated, "We are certainly ready militarily and technically."

Putin highlighted that any deployment of U.S. troops in Ukraine or on Russian soil would be considered as interference by Moscow. He underlined the existence of sufficient experts in Russian-U.S. relations and strategic alliances, suggesting that a nuclear conflict is not inevitable but maintained that Russia remains prepared for any eventuality.

Despite repeated public threats of nuclear strikes to deter Western intervention in Ukraine, Putin assured that he has never felt the necessity to resort to nuclear weapons in the ongoing conflict. Nevertheless, his statements have raised concerns in Washington, with the United States closely monitoring Russia's nuclear activities.

While Putin affirmed that Russia is open to significant discussions with Ukraine, he stressed the importance of conducting such talks based on the realities of the situation. The remarks come amidst ongoing diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions and find a peaceful resolution to the crisis in Ukraine.
