Israeli occupation forces have once again targeted crowds seeking relief in the besieged Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of at least 19 Palestinians and injuring 23 others. The brutal assault occurred in the southeast of Gaza, as reported by Qatar-based media outlet Al Jazeera.

This latest attack adds to a series of similar incidents where Israel has targeted aid seekers in Gaza. Last month alone, over 100 Palestinians lost their lives, with hundreds more sustaining injuries in a similar assault.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Gaza's media office condemned the actions of the Israeli occupation forces, describing the incident as a massacre. The attack occurred as thousands of Palestinians gathered near the al-Quwat roundabout, awaiting essential supplies like flour and aid. Tragically, 19 individuals lost their lives, and 23 civilians were wounded when Israeli forces opened fire indiscriminately with machine guns.

Mahmoud Bassal, a spokesman for Gaza's civil defense department, highlighted the severity of the situation, emphasizing the heavy fire directed at civilians. Despite efforts to rescue and transport the injured to nearby Ahli Arab Hospital, Gaza's healthcare system, already under immense strain, struggled to cope with the influx of casualties.

Many of the wounded, some sustaining stab wounds, received treatment outdoors due to the overwhelming pressure on hospital resources. Alaa al-Khudari, an eyewitness to the tragedy, recounted the harrowing scenes of civilians risking their lives to gather food for their families amidst the chaos.
