Gaza, Nov 28 (V7N) – Despite the declared ceasefire, Israel has continued military operations in Gaza, causing civilian casualties and severely restricting the entry of humanitarian aid, according to Amnesty International. The human rights organization warned that repeated violations have persisted since October 10, undermining international calls for peace and exposing civilians to grave dangers.

Over the past seven weeks, Amnesty reports more than 500 ceasefire violations, resulting in over 400 Palestinian deaths. These attacks have included aerial bombardments in southern and central Gaza, targeting areas beyond the so-called “yellow line” and impacting residential zones. On Wednesday night, Israeli forces reportedly killed a Palestinian in Jenin, highlighting that the violence extends beyond Gaza itself.

The ongoing conflict has left the civilian population in a critical humanitarian situation. Humanitarian organizations report severe shortages of food, clean water, medical supplies, and shelter, as Israel continues to restrict the movement of aid into the enclave. Many hospitals are struggling to provide care for the wounded, while families in heavily bombarded areas face displacement and loss of property.

Amnesty International stressed that these attacks violate international humanitarian law, including the principles of distinction and proportionality, which require combatants to avoid targeting civilians. The organization urged the international community to pressure Israel to comply with humanitarian norms and to ensure unimpeded delivery of aid to affected communities.

The conflict has sparked global concern. Several UN bodies and human rights groups have condemned the violence, calling for accountability for repeated violations of ceasefires and protection of civilian populations. Experts warn that continued attacks and restrictions on aid may exacerbate the humanitarian crisis, further destabilizing Gaza and surrounding regions.

Amnesty also emphasized that psychological trauma, destruction of homes, and disruption of basic services are long-term consequences for Palestinian civilians, particularly children. They urged immediate international monitoring and intervention to prevent further loss of life and ensure compliance with human rights standards.

The report concludes that without urgent global attention and enforcement of international norms, the situation risks escalating into a larger humanitarian catastrophe, leaving tens of thousands of civilians vulnerable.
