Rawalpindi, Dec 10 (V7N) – Pakistan’s newly appointed Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, issued a strong warning to India on Monday, stating that New Delhi should not underestimate or miscalculate Pakistan’s response in any potential future conflict.

Field Marshal Munir made the remarks during a guard of honor ceremony at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, which was organized to mark his historic appointment as the first Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) of Pakistan. He stated that Pakistan’s response in future confrontations would be “faster and more intense,” signaling a more integrated and proactive military stance.

In his address to senior military officials, Munir stressed the growing complexity of the security environment, noting that threats have become multidimensional, requiring a coordinated approach across the army, navy, and air force. He emphasized that the newly established Defence Forces Headquarters would serve as the central command for operational coordination, while each service would continue to maintain its operational autonomy and organizational identity.

“Under unified high command, the three services will operate cohesively while preserving their internal structure and independence,” he said, highlighting the balance between centralized coordination and individual service autonomy.

The Field Marshal also highlighted the strategic significance of the Defence Forces Headquarters in ensuring a disciplined, synchronized, and robust response to emerging challenges, including cross-border tensions and evolving security threats. Analysts note that this appointment reflects Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen its integrated military command structure, streamline decision-making, and enhance preparedness for both conventional and multidimensional security challenges.

Military officials at the ceremony underscored that this new structure is intended to optimize joint operations, improve rapid response capabilities, and reinforce Pakistan’s deterrence posture in the region.

Field Marshal Munir’s appointment comes at a time of heightened regional tensions and is viewed as a step toward consolidating Pakistan’s military leadership under a unified command to ensure operational efficiency and strategic readiness.
