Ankara, Mar 10 (V7N) – Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Turkey, has warned Iran following a missile incident that entered Turkish airspace.

Speaking after an emergency cabinet meeting at his office, Erdoğan said Iran had been given the necessary warning regarding the incident. He added that despite repeated cautions, provocative steps were still being taken against Turkey.

“Nothing should be done that casts a shadow on our thousand-year-old neighborly and brotherly relations,” the Turkish president said.

However, Erdoğan confirmed that no damage was caused in the latest incident. According to him, the missile launched on Monday was intercepted and eventually fell in an open area.

Turkish authorities noted that another missile had previously entered Turkish airspace on March 4, heightening tensions between the two neighboring countries.

Erdoğan emphasized that Turkey’s main objective is to keep the country away from the ongoing conflict in the region.
