TEL AVIV, Mar 31 (V7N) — The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed on Tuesday that four soldiers were killed during intense combat operations in southern Lebanon. According to a report by the Times of Israel, the fatalities occurred during a single engagement on Monday as the month-long conflict continues to escalate across the Blue Line.

The IDF released the identities of three of the fallen soldiers via a statement on Telegram:

  • Captain Noam Madmoni, 22, from Netanya.

  • Staff Sergeant Ben Cohen, 21, from Metula.

  • Staff Sergeant Maxim Entis, 22, from Ma'alot-Tarshiha.

The military noted that a fourth soldier was also killed in the same incident, but his name has been withheld pending the formal notification of his family.

Casualties and Hospitalizations

In addition to the fatalities, two other personnel were evacuated from the battlefield for medical treatment. One soldier is reportedly in critical condition, while a reservist sustained moderate injuries and is currently being treated at a hospital in northern Israel.

Context of the Ground Operations

These deaths bring the total number of IDF fatalities in the ground offensive against Hezbollah to over 40 since the campaign began 32 days ago. The clashes in southern Lebanon have intensified alongside Iranian missile barrages that struck Tel Aviv earlier today. While President Donald Trump recently signaled a potential softening of the U.S. military stance, the situation on the ground in Lebanon remains a high-intensity kinetic conflict with neither side showing signs of a retreat.

The IDF continues to conduct "targeted raids" aimed at dismantling Hezbollah’s Radwan Force infrastructure, citing the discovery of extensive tunnel networks and weapons caches in border villages.
