Abu Dhabi, May 05 (V7N) – Brazilian aerospace company Embraer has secured a major defense agreement with the United Arab Emirates for the supply of 20 C-390 military transport aircraft.

According to a report by Al Jazeera, the deal includes 10 confirmed orders and an option for an additional 10 aircraft. The total value of the agreement is estimated at around $1 billion, as reported by Reuters.

A senior official from Embraer’s defense division described the Middle East as a key market for expansion, expressing optimism that the agreement will open the door to further contracts in the region.

Currently, the UAE operates US-made military transport aircraft, including the Lockheed C-130 Hercules and the Boeing C-17 Globemaster III. The addition of the C-390 is expected to enhance the country’s logistical and operational capabilities.

The deal reflects growing defense cooperation between Latin American manufacturers and Middle Eastern countries, amid increasing demand for advanced military transport solutions.
