TEHRAN, July 04 (V7N): Thousands of mourners carrying red banners gathered at Tehran’s Grand Mosalla on Saturday, chanting slogans and demanding revenge as Iran officially began six days of public funeral ceremonies for the late Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The capital faced extensive traffic restrictions as crowds walked for kilometers to reach the venue ahead of the state funeral, which will later move to Iraq before final burial.

Representing Bangladesh, Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, Bir Bikrom, attended the solemn ceremony to offer prayers and convey official condolences to the people of Iran. During his visit, Speaker Hafiz held a bilateral meeting with Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, where he strongly condemned the killing of the Supreme Leader and praised Ghalibaf’s recent efforts in implementing the Iran-US peace memorandum. Additionally, the Bangladesh Speaker met with Iranian Sports Minister Ahmad Donyamali, who requested Bangladesh's technical assistance to help develop cricket in Iran through a proposed sports cooperation agreement.
