Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, the head of Israel's defense forces, has emphasized the necessity of a response to Iran's recent attack. According to a report from Qatar-based news outlet Al Jazeera on Monday (April 15), Lt. Gen. Halevi made these remarks during a visit to an Israeli air base damaged in the Iranian assault.

The attack, which occurred late last Saturday night, saw four Iranian ballistic missiles strike the base, causing significant damage. Lt. Gen. Halevi noted that Iran's objective was to undermine Israel's strategic capabilities, a move unprecedented in its severity.

In response to the attack, Lt. Gen. Halevi underscored Israel's readiness to deploy the Iron Shield operation, a defensive measure designed to intercept incoming missiles and protect vital infrastructure. He expressed confidence in Israel's strength and ability to navigate the situation effectively, stressing the country's capacity to address challenges independently.

Lt. Gen. Halevi's comments come amidst heightened tensions between Iran and Israel, with the latter weighing its options for a measured response to the provocative actions initiated by Tehran.
