New Delhi, June 5 2024 – Preparations are underway for the swearing-in ceremony of India's new government, with Narendra Modi set to be inaugurated as Prime Minister for the third consecutive term. Heads of state and government from neighboring countries have been invited to attend the event.

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe have confirmed their attendance at the swearing-in ceremony. On Wednesday evening, it was confirmed that Modi will form the government with all partners of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Key political figures Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar declared their support for Modi in a special meeting in Delhi, solidifying their alliance with a written agreement.

Before the formation of the new government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other cabinet members submitted their resignations to President Draupadi Murmu. The NDA coalition secured a majority in the recent Lok Sabha elections, winning 293 seats, with the BJP alone securing 240 seats. The opposition coalition, led by Rahul Gandhi's Congress, won 232 seats.

The swearing-in ceremony is expected to be a grand event, reflecting Modi's continued influence and the strengthened ties within the NDA alliance.
