New Delhi, June 6 2024 — The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has garnered the support of its National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners to form the new government. On June 5, a critical meeting was held at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence in New Delhi, attended by BJP leaders and representatives of the NDA partner parties.

Following the meeting, BJP announced via a statement on X that Narendra Modi has been unanimously chosen as the leader of the alliance, setting the stage for his third consecutive term as Prime Minister.

Among the 21 leaders named in the statement were key figures such as Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader N Chandrababu Naidu and a representative of Janata Dal United (JDU). The backing of these two parties is crucial for the BJP to secure the necessary 272 seats in the Lok Sabha required to form the new government.

Political analysts, interpreting various social media statements, suggest that the BJP is confident in its ability to secure sufficient support from its partners to establish the government.

Narendra Modi’s anticipated third term as Prime Minister underscores the continued dominance of the BJP and its strategic alliances within the NDA.
