RIYADH, 3 July 2024 – Saudi Arabia has announced the discovery of seven new oil and gas fields, significantly expanding its energy resources. Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, the country's Minister of Energy, made the announcement, according to a report by Arab News on Wednesday, July 3, citing the Saudi Press Agency.

The newly discovered fields include:

  • Two oil fields
  • One Arabian Light oil reservoir
  • Two natural gas fields
  • Two natural gas reservoirs

These resources have been located in the Eastern Province and the Empty Quarter (Rub' al Khali) of Saudi Arabia.

1. Eastern Province Discoveries:

  • Ladam-2: An unconventional oil field named "Ladam" was discovered after producing 5,100 barrels of oil per day.
  • Al Farooq-4: The "Al Farooq" unconventional oil field was identified after extracting 4,557 barrels of Arab ultra light oil per day.
